Volume Two
18– 26 July 2026
The title of this year’s exhibition as part of the Jahresausstellung draws on the ubiquitous marketing strategy used in blockbuster cinema and popular fiction. Volume Two marks the first iteration of a promising strategy. Sequels to successful intellectual properties repeatedly lead us back to familiar worlds that never overwhelm us—no matter how apocalyptic they may be. But repetition is also a tried-and-true artistic strategy. Working in series, staying with it instead of starting over again. And then there’s the suggestion of something like a second-tier volume: a flat sculpture—a sculpture that doesn’t have a rear—is it even a sculpture?
Featuring works by Pauline Stumpf, Saicheng Chen, Antonia Lippert, Timothy Hammer, Max Frohn, Katrina Vikhrova, Katharina Burger, Magdalena Welz, Alex Jeskulke, and Paula Eberle.
